The 40th Anniversary celebration of the Women’s Council of the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden was presented by honorary chairs Dr. Linda L. Burk and Dr. John R. Gilmore alongside Sharon Ballew, chair of the Ruby Red Gala. This year’s gala began in A Women’s Garden with a VIP event followed by a champagne reception featuring a captivating performance by a bubble acrobat, which could be seen on the Infinity Pool.
As the sun set, guests walked to the Jonsson Color Garden for a stylish seated dinner. Guests dined at white linen tables featuring ruby red napkins and gold chargers. Each table had its own luminescent vase filled with dark red roses, while the soft glimmer of the outdoor globe lights could be seen throughout the garden. A celebratory dinner was served alongside wine pairings chosen by Gil’s Elegant Catering. Next, attendees made their way to the Rosine Hall, where Flaming Bananas Foster and Cherries Jubilee was served over Blue Bell Ice Cream.
A spirited live auction was held with a wide range of prizes featuring jewelry, dinners, vacation spots, and more. To close out the night, guests danced to an Emerald City’s Limelight Band performance. The evening was filled with celebration, fine dining, and carefully curated wine pairings benefiting A Woman’s Garden.
The gala proceeds benefit A Woman’s Garden, celebrating its 25th anniversary. It is the only public garden in the nation devised by women and has been a primary focus of the Women’s Council since 1982. The garden is devoted to nature and femininity. It has been a continuous tribute to the founders of The Women’s Council, an all-volunteer non-profit organization, and its dedicated members.
