PC Moment: The Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce honored 14 women “who have contributed significantly to the advancement and empowerment of women and improved the quality of life for future generations of Houstonians.” These role models were inducted into the chamber’s Hall of Fame.
There were beaucoup bouquets as chairs Susan Sarofim and her daughters, Lori Sarofim and Kelly Krohn, each received armloads of flowers while the honorees received their beautiful plaques.
Proceeds from the evening benefit the chamber’s various programs for women in the workplace advancement, including Houston on Board, an initiative to see more women serving on corporate boards; scholarships for young women in the area; STEAM Town USA, an initiative to introduce third grade girls to science, technology, engineering, arts and math.
Honorees: Amanda Brock, Cheryl Byington, Suzan Deison, Laura Draper Bellows, Cathy Easter, Diane Englet, Gayla Gardner, Diane Gendel, Dr. Sippi Khurana, Karyl White, Dr. Guillermina “Gigi” Lozano, Roxann Thomas Chargois, Hallie Vanderhider and Robin Young-Ellis.
