What: Houston Symphony League holiday luncheon
Where: The River Oaks home of Jana and Scotty Arnoldy
PC Moment: More than 200 Houston Symphony supporters mingled throughout the Arnoldys’ magnificent Mediterranean style manse that stretches across two oak-shaded lots on the River Oaks periphery. Even with that number of holiday partygoers, there was room to spare. Elizabeth Stone and her Silver Stone Events team provided sustenance for the merry band.
Taking the lead as co-hosts for the gathering were Symphony League president Beth Wolff and vice president Cheryl Byington. The buzz was all about the symphony’s Magical Musical Morning at River Oaks Country Club, the upcoming Symphony Wine Dinner and the Symphony Ball to be held in May at Tilman Fertitta‘s new Post Oak Hotel.
For the young at heart, looking past the holidays, there was an element of high anticipation for the January 5 to 7 performance of the score from Walt Disney’s Fantasia while selections of the iconic cartoon are played on a screen above the 80-piece orchestra under direction of the orchestra’s new pops conductor Steve Reineke.
