Former Pros Help the Average Joes

BY // 09.06.19

What: Today’s Harbor for Children‘s “Fantasy Football Draft Night”

Where: The Club Level at NRG stadium

PC Moment: The race was on to put together a winning team and was intense. That’s because when the final touchdown is scored for the season, this fantasy football winner will receive two tickets to the 2020 Super Bowl in Miami.

Former Houston Oilers coach Ed Biles joined Donovan Greer (NFL cornerback for  the Atlanta Falcons, New Orleans Saints, Buffalo Bills, Washington Redskins and the Detroit Lions), Doug Dawson (NFL offensive lineman for the Cleveland Browns, Houston Oilers and St. Louis Cardinals), and Joe Wesley (NFL defensive player for the Jacksonville Jaguars and the San Francisco 49ers) in coaching the would-be team owners in their dream team selections.

KPRC sports director Randy McIlvoy emceed the activities at this sixth annual fundraiser for the nonprofit that provides comprehensive residential care for abused and neglected children throughout southeast Texas. The event raised $375,000.

Gridiron fans Michael Knudsen and Fred Wahrlich reprised their 2018 roles as chairs of the event that this year drew 350 fantasy football enthusiasts.
