Ten of Dallas’ finest chefs are turning up the heat this month for a good cause. The 10th annual Stewpot Alliance Soup’s On! Luncheon and Art Sale will be held on Monday, January 29 at The Statler Hotel. The one-of-a-kind event will feature cuisine from notable Dallas chefs and original paintings from artists of the Stewpot Open Art Program.
For more than 40 years, The Stewpot has provided meals to homeless and at-risk neighbors in Downtown Dallas, and its programs and partnerships have helped support medical and dental needs, counseling and case management, youth and family stabilization programs, therapeutic and vocational activities.
The Open Art Program is one of these therapeutic activities, offering a creative outlet to homeless and disadvantaged people of Dallas. The program also enables members to sell their artwork and keep 90 percent of sales, with 10 percent going back into the program. An assortment of original pieces created by Stewpot artists will be available for purchase at the event.
The stellar lineup of chefs includes The Statler’s Graham Dodds, chef Chair Brian C. Luscher (The Grape), Omar Flores (Whistlebritches), Janice Provost (Parigi), Anastacia Quinones (Oddfellows), Jeremie Robison (City Hall Bistro) and others. The chefs will serve up a signature soup as the first course of the luncheon.
Stewpot Alliance Luncheon founders Rusty Duvall, Janet Evans, Dian Moore, Bonnie Mastin, Debbie Raynor and Bonnie Thompson serve as Honorary Chairs of the 10th annual luncheon, chaired by Stewpot Alliance board members Kelly Donohue Garlock and Allison Salas Fasy.
Tickets for the event are $200 per person and can be purchased online. Learn more at www.soupsondallas.com.
