Dallas Afterschool hosts Recess, a grown-up twist on the favorite childhood pastime.
In honor of its 10th anniversary, Dallas Afterschool, a nonprofit that focuses on quality afternoon programming for children throughout Dallas County, is revisiting the best part of the school day with some grown-up twists — Recess.
The event, which benefits the Dallas-based non-profit, will be held on Friday, March 24 in Rosine Hall at the Dallas Arboretum and features live music by Prophets and Outlaws, dancing, games, and more. Dallas’ own shopping playground, NorthPark Center, is even sponsoring a sandbox filled with $10,000 worth of prizes.
Famed local chef, Kent Rathbun, will also prepare cafeteria-inspired fare (word around the halls is there will be spiked juice boxes).
This year’s event honors Julie Bagley, Meredith Camp, Hadley Galt, Kate Rose Marquez, Christina Norris and Jennifer Tobin. Note: Schoolyard chic attire is encouraged.
