Houston’s Best Bachelorette Brunch Spots: The Restaurants Where Brides Can Wedding Party with Style

BY Michelle Naik // 11.17.17

Ready to treat your bridal party to a savory brunch filled with lots of bubbly? Whether you fancy a traditional Southern fare, authentic Mexican cuisine or Vietnamese comfort food — we’ve got you and your wedding crew covered. Boozy bachelorette brunches or more refined wedding affairs should both bring more than the same old, tired scene.

Here’s your go-to guide for the hottest bridal brunch destinations in Houston:

Eloise Nichols Grill & Liquors

Tucked away between the River Oaks Shopping District and Highland Village, this neighborhood restaurant offers an elegant yet easy-going vibe with a traditional Southern brunch menu. For starters, you’ll enjoy some good ol’ homemade biscuits served with charred jalapeño-chorizo gravy, then indulge in shrimp and grits topped with an egg, crispy chicken and waffles with cane syrup butter, sliced apples, scallions and maple syrup, or the Breakfast Stack with refried beans, pulled pork, fried eggs, cheddar, salsa verde and pico de gallo.

Oh, and don’t forget about the cocktails. You can have a mimosa your way — classic, pineapple or grapefruit, a house-made Bloody Mary or the Portlandia which consists of vodka or bourbon mixed with espresso and cream de cacao. Brunch is now served on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 3pm.

 Xochi

Located in the new Marriott Marquis downtown, Xochi — chef Hugo Ortega’s already renowned restaurant — is inspired by the richness and true colors of Oaxaca, Mexico. The brunch menu is not just another cookie-cutter brunch menu either. Take the ensalada de aguacate con pollo (grilled chicken, Swiss chard, purslane, blood orange, chocolate mint topped with orange paleo dressing) or if the Memela y Huevos (toasted masa pancake, shredded roasted chicken, huaxmole, refritos, cream queso fresco topped with sunny side up eggs).

Xochi also offers private dining spaces indoor and on the outdoor patio. The Chapulin Private Dining Space seats up to 16 comfortably, which is perfect for an intimate bridal party luncheon or even a bridal shower.

Ritual

If you’re the bride that wants to show off her true Texan spirit, Ritual is your spot. Inspired by all things Texas, Ritual’s brunch menu will make you feel right at home with the waffle churros, the Pig Mac, TX Flag French toast and country ham and eggs.

Don’t forget to share the deep fried chocolate cake and bread pudding with your bridesmaids.

Le Colonial

Designed to channel the elegance and opulence of French Colonial Southeast Asia in the 1920s, Le Colonial offers a lavish ambiance with a menu that combines classic Vietnamese comfort food and delicate French-Asian cuisine. And it’s right in the heart of the River Oaks District scene (and it’s definitely a scene).

The Pho Bo, which is an Oxtail soup with sliced beef tenderloin, rice noodles, onions, scallions, bean sprouts and cilantro, is one of Le Colonial’s must-try items.

Want to treat your bridesmaids to a private dining experience? The Lotus Room seats up to 14 guests and has exclusive tasting menus with wine pairings prepared by culinary director Nicole Routhier available by request.

La Table

If you’re a chic bride that loves fine dining and timeless elegance, La Table may be your spot. This French food goes a long way. You have the option of going with a two course or three course family-style brunch for private parties. Start off with a basket full of fine French pastries, then choose from a variety of main course options such as scrambled eggs, egg carnitas, orange brioche French toast or an egg white frittata.

Enjoy brunch with your favorite girls in the Champagne Room (perfect for an intimate setting, it seats up to 16) or if the weather permits, you can dine on the stylish patio that’s tucked back a bit from Post Oak Boulevard.
