Celebrate the life and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. at the 42nd Annual Original MLK, Jr. Birthday Parade, presented by the Black Heritage Society. The parade will honor the Civil Rights activist through decorative floats, performances from marching bands, and more. Serving as this year’s Grand Marshal will be former two-time world heavyweight champion and Olympic gold medalist George Forman. Immediately following the parade will be the MLK Taste of Houston Festival.

Houston’s MLK, Jr. Parade, sanctioned by the King family in 1978, was the first MLK parade in the country.
