Director Peter Bogdanovich’s masterpiece film details the inhabitants of a small town in North Texas, Thalia (played by Archer City) that has seen better times. In 1988, the Library of Congress selected the movie for preservation in the National Film Registry for being “culturally, historically or aesthetically significant.”
