The Schlumberger heir, along with her husband, John, forged one of the 20th century’s most extraordinary art collections with works by Max Ernst, Donald Judd, Andy Warhol, and Niki de Saint Phalle; commissioned Philip Johnson to design his first residential commission, the Houston home she shared with husband John; and spearheaded The Menil Collection designed by Renzo Piano.
