Celestial Suite

The lair of Judge Roy Hofheinz exists almost intact as a window into the outsized force who not only was mayor of Houston but also built the Astrodome and crafted Astroworld. The exuberant decor of the judge’s penthouse in the Crowne Plaza Hotel, with its Minidome nightclub and P.T. Barnum Suite, was designed by Harper Goff, set designer for 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Fantastic Voyage, and Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, among others, and an early architect of Disneyland.
