On the heels of his October announcement that he plans to leave The Mansion on Turtle Creek, top chef Bruno Davaillon says he will remain in Dallas. Kudos to Thomas Hartland-Mackie — husband of the stylish Nasiba Adilova — for securing the beloved Frenchman to helm the new, unnamed restaurant that is scheduled to open late next year in Hartland-Mackie’s under-construction 400 Record building downtown (formerly known as the Belo building).
The casual contemporary eatery will offer refined, simply prepared food in a second-floor space designed by New York City- and London-based architecture and interior design firm Martin Brudnizki Design Studio. We imagine 400 Record will breathe new life into that sleepy part of downtown — the 17-story building will also house a fitness center, conference space and Hartland-Mackie’s City Electric Supply company.
