The World’s First Running Music Festival Hits Texas Live — and Houston and Austin Could See It Next

Unique Race Course is Filled With DJs, Bubble Zones and Light Shows

“The World’s 1st Running Music Festival,” Night Nation Run, is coming to Texas Live, the new $250 million entertainment district backed by the Texas Rangers and the City of Arlington. A combination of a music festival and fun run, the music filled course will have DJs, light shows, bubble zones and neon and black lights that will entertain you while you exercise.

What looks to be an extremely high energy run/dance party, will begin at Texas Live. Runners will go around AT&T Stadium and Globe Life Park. The first wave of racers will begin at 7:30 pm on September 21 and additional waves will go off from there.

The course will consist of dancers, selfie-stations and glow gear giveaways. There’s a lovely course map on the website that shows passages through Bubble World and Lantern Land. It actually looks very cool.

I just watched the Fyre Fest documentary on Netflix last night so there’s an embedded fear in me now that nothing is as it appears, but at least with this there is absolutely no chance that you’ll be stranded in the Bahamas or ravaging for sleeping accommodations. Night Nation has also been around for six years so this isn’t at all relevant except that it is also a music festival. That documentary was just mind-blowing to me.

The event was called Nocturnal before it experienced a name change to Night Nation in 2015. Night Nation Run has been an annual event in Dallas since the re-branding. It’s also officially scheduled to take place in around 18 other U.S. cities this year — and plans call for it to come to Austin and Houston soon.

The run ends at the main stage with a huge After Party. Top headliner DJs will perform and many will dance as “lights, fog, cryo, confetti guns and giveaways rain down on you,” according to the run’s website.
