What: Buffalo Bayou Partnership gala “Color Outside the Lines”

Where: The historic Sabine Street bridge

PC Moment: Any event that begins with the opportunity to tour the Buffalo Bayou Park Cistern is an automatic winner, and even more so with the current light installation by Carlos Cruz-Diez. So it was that this evening was off to a spectacular start for the 550 guests who helped raise $600,000 for the partnership’s efforts in transforming the bayou into a grand public space.

Ellyn Wulfe chaired the evening that honored Judy Nyquist and Geraldina Wise, who were instrumental in renovation of the cistern and serve as co-chairs of the partnership’s public art committee.

The program featured remarks by Mayor Sylvester Turner and the premiere of a BBP video highlighting the transformation of park renderings into reality with emphasis on the partnership’s new focus on Buffalo Bayou east of downtown.

PC Seen: BBP chair emeritus Collin Cox, BBP president Anne Olson, Clayton and Shel Erikson, Polly and Murry Bowden, Sis and Hasty Johnson, Bob Eury, Gaynell Floyd Drexler, Anne Whitlock and Michael Skelly, Bo Fraga, Judy Tate, Johnny Steele, Lisa and Jeff Taylor, Guy Hagstette, Mike Garver, Maria Ines Sicardi and Carolyn and Chris Dorros.
