Designer Birthday Bash Turns a Galleria Restaurant into a Wild Dance Club: And Oh, that Cake

PC Moment: The popular Galleria-area restaurant experienced a rocking transformation around 9 pm as the birthday party throng began arriving. Gold balloons and oodles of white flowers prepared the first floor (bakery, bar and Assouline book shop) for the celebration that spilled over onto the newly-renovated patio. The fashionable group indulged in champagne, sparkling rosé, and Kir Royale cocktails while dancing to the beats by DJ Zetroc (aka Cortez), in from Austin for the bash.

What would a birthday celebration be without a fancy cake? No worries here. La Table’s executive pastry chef Otto Sanchez created a custom three-tiered, white vanilla confection with Bavarian cream filling. Piece de resistance — the cake’s delicate pink and white floral decoration. Sanchez also made sure that the night ended on a sweet note for guests. He provided packages of freshly-made lemon and honey madeleines for all.
