Old Bank Teller Window Converted Into a Hip New Shaved Ice Stand: This Houston Restaurant Group is Determined to Keep It Snowball Cool

Houstonians worn down by the relentless summer heat can finally rejoice. For at least a cool moment. A hip shaved ice stand connected to River Oaks’ Bebidas cafe is now serving up shaved ice snowballs, throwing cool treats at the heat.
The newest offering from the Adair Concepts restaurant group, Bebidas recently expanded its menu to offer more all day cafe food options such as ceviche and blue corn tacos.
Its new shaved ice stand — Snowballs x Bebidas — is the creative brainchild of Katie Adair Barnhart, the sister half of the sibling duo behind Adair Concepts. In line with the restaurateurs’ commitment to health conscious menu items, the snowball masters are using all-natural, organic syrups from California based Nature’s Flavors in their icy creations.
Snowballs come in classic flavors like watermelon, fruit punch and black cherry — and more bold options like chocolate peanut butter, lavender, cinnamon and almond snow. Like with any serious shaved ice stand, there is also the option for add ons like condensed milk, chamoy or Houston based MALK organics milk flavors that take your snowball to the next level.
A menu of House Favorites is available to give you some inspiration if you’re stumped on creativity. Perhaps the The Balleluia, a mix of lavender and MALK pecan milk or the Water Under the Bridge, a mix of watermelon, mint and chamoy sprinkles will cure the stifling summer heat blues.
The snowballs cost $2.50 for an eight ounce serving and $3.50 for 12 ounces. Bebidas and its new stand are located at 2606 Edole at the corner of Westheimer.
The setting adds another dimension to the fun. The former bank teller window turned social media ready, colorfully striped walk up window is open from 7 am to 8 pm daily on the side of Bebidas. Instagram has already lit up with selfies galore in front of Bebidas’ candy colored stripes with customers proudly holding up their sweet confections.
An ice cold snowball and a colorful social media post. What more does one need for summer?
