Houston’s Luxury Shopping Mecca Beefs Up: A New Wave of Stores Is On Tap for River Oaks District

Six months of retail colonization by developer OliverMcMillan at al fresco shopping mecca River Oaks District has garnered 30 luxury boutiques (with more on the way) from brand behemoths Tom Ford, Dior and Hèrmes, to H&M sister store COS, sporting and lifestyle shop Saint Bernard, and the District’s first restaurant — Dallas-based French café Toulouse. A fresh list of tenants has just been added to the ever-evolving ROD roster.
The first new addition to open, in late September, is Dallas-based retailer Forty Five Ten, taking a prime 3,300-square-foot corner location across from Tom Ford and next to Toulouse café. Copper Bar, dispensing champagne and coffee, greets customers, while a sea of posh women’s, men’s, home and beauty collections, edited by women’s fashion director Taylor Tomasi Hill and menswear savant Nick Wooster, round out the store.
River Oaks District’s first home design store, Oroa, the second location in the U.S., will stock Dutch furniture brand Eichholtz and accessories.
Following the opening of her first Texas store in Dallas’ Highland Park Village, designer Stacey Bendet brings her contemporary collection, Alice + Olivia, to River Oaks District.

Eres, the Chanel-owned French swimwear and lingerie brand, brings its signature designs and precisely cut swimsuits to River Oaks District.
After 17 years in Uptown Park, Bella Rinova salon is relocating to River Oaks District, into 7,200 square feet — nearly triple its current size. Make-up artist Edward Sanchez will operate a makeup and brow bar in the salon.
Organic gelato will soon be on your menu with the opening of Amorino Gelato, serving signature gelato flavors alongside frappes, hot drinks and sweet selects.
London fragrance house Jo Malone opens its first free-standing Texas boutique, stocking the full range of candles, fragrances and lotions.
Women’s boutique Joie debuts its casual collection of luxury clothing, accessories and footwear.
