Alfredo Jaar is renowned for his poignant artistic prowess, making him the ideal inaugural speaker for the Holocaust Museum Houston’s newest society, Art Circle. With the Circle’s co-chairs Heidi Gerger and Frank Herzog at the helm, the plan is to unite both museum members and art aficionados to raise awareness of current global crises. For the Circle’s opening evening, Jaar spoke to an intimate group at the museum, then members adjourned for cocktails and cultural conversation at the home of Heidi and David Gerger. Inspired philanthropists: Holocaust Museum chair Mark Mucasey, MFAH photography curator Ann Wilkes Tucker, Carol and David Neuberger, FotoFest founders Wendy Watriss and Fred Baldwin, Judy and Mike Weingart, Clint Willour of the Galveston Arts Center, and Cheryl and Stephen Golub.
