Celebrations for this year’s Pin Oak Charity Horse Show began at The Wynden, where Pin Oak Charity and Houston Polo Club hosted the annual Fashion Presentation & Luncheon, “What to Wear to that Equestrian Affaire.” Show president Lynn Walsh welcomed more than 160 to a Tootsies fashion show and viewing of the grand-prize raffle item: the Crown Jewel necklace with 175 pearls, amethysts and citrines, donated by Valobra Jewelry & Antiques. Astrid Van Dyke, winner of last year’s Hatter Derby, was presented with a magnum from event sponsor Moët & Chandon with her name in Swarovski crystals. Luncheon chairs Alexis Caruselle, Janine K. Iannarelli, and Elizabeth Wood raised funds for Texas Children’s Hospital, Ronald McDonald House Family Rooms and Candlelighters Cancer Family Alliance. Moët & Chandon also sponsored the Hatter Derby, where judges Beatrice Bornibus of Valobra and Dominick Ranalli chose Jana Arnoldy as the wearer of the most fabulous hat — and recipient of her own personalized magnum later this year. Finally, it was time for the big show: the $25,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby presented by Valobra Jewelry & Antiques. Afterwards, the week’s Honored Hero, TCH patient Jackson Guillory, picked the raffle winner: Tom Fuller, who planned to give the necklace to his wife for their anniversary.
