On Saturday, February 16, 2013 the upscale River Oaks Country Club was the venue for the 2013 Champagne and Chocolat Scholarship Gala. The Gaston LeNotre Scholarship is celebrating their 12th year in Houston serving their under privileged culinary arts students.
The "Parisian Valentine Champagne and Chocolat" evening was filled with elegance, glamour and romance for everyone to enjoy. The evening startet with a champagne reception. The event was chaired by Jane Page & James Crump, Co-Chairs were Kaye & Stephen Horn and Deanna & Larry Blackburn served as Honorary Chairs.
Cleverley Stone welcomed the guests, before Father Demetrio Tagaropulos gave the invocation. Guests enjoyed a Cancan Show by the high school for the Performing and Visual Arts.
The gourmet dinner included silent and live auction and live music performed by Bubba McNeely and dancing. Dennis Steger was honored with the Inaugrual Gaston LeNotre Scholarship Ambassador Award.
The dinner ended with a sumptious dessert buffet by Culinary Institute LeNotre Chefs and students, and guests had one more chance to bid on the many silent auction items before the event concluded.

Gaston LeNotre Scholarship, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization works to raise much needed scholarship funds for the deserving students who aspire to obtain a career in the culinary arts. Gaston LeNotre Scholarship wants to ensure that the heritage of this legend in gastronomy lives on, by supporting "student-chefs" that strive for excellence, inspired by Chef Gaston LeNotre and all that he offered to the culinary arts world.
