On Saturday, September 8, 2012, Spirit Key, Inc. celebrated its Seven Year Anniversary of helping the homeless, ex-offenders and veterans with a Black Tie Gala at the Junior League of Houston.
The gala theme was Restoring Lives. All proceeds will benefit Spirit Key, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, which has been making a difference in Texas since 2005.
Last year alone Spirit Key made a difference in the lives of more than 1,500 people. For many people homelessness is a reality. Spirit Key is all about helping the homeless, veterans and ex-offenders.
Spirit Key is a transitional work facility located in Houston, north Harris County. Their services include: housing, mentoring and job and life skills training. They have a greater than 95% success rate in assisting clients in becoming viable and productive tax-paying citizens. Spirit Key has saved Texas taxpayers over 5 million dollars.
Music was be provided by Virtuosi of Houston Youth Orchestra. An exceptional dinner was be provided that included various Hors d'Oeuvres, Salad of Mixed Greens, Sun-dried Tomatoes, Croutons and Jack Cheese with Balsamic Vinaigrette. The Entrée was Prime Rib of Beef au Jus with Château Potatoes and Asparagus, and dessert was the Junior League of Houston's signature Pecan Ball (ice cream covered in pecans) in a Lace Basket on Three Sauces.
