What: The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary 2018 Fashion Show and Luncheon kickoff

Where: Eiseman Jewels boutique at NorthPark Center

PC Moment: Amongst glittering baubles and luxe timepieces, more than 75 Salvation Army patrons fêted the organization ahead of its annual fashion show and luncheon slated for Wednesday, May 9, at the Meyerson Symphony Center.

Joining hosts Richard and Betsy Eiseman — both longtime supporters of the Salvation Army — were event chair Lisa Singleton and Salvation Army representative Major Barbara Rich, who spoke of the charity’s efforts in Dallas-Fort Worth to provide 1,300 men, women, and children with a place to stay, plus shelter for nearly 8,000 homeless every year.

More exciting news for the forthcoming event: Michal Powell is honorary chair, and Jan Pickens will receive the 2018 Margot Perot Service Award, given to an extraordinarily passionate Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary member.

Past recipients include Charlotte Anderson Jones, Betty Harlan, and BJ Ward. In the 25 years since the fashion show and luncheon began, it’s raised more than $9 million for local Salvation Army services.
