All the Best Names at Heroes and Handbags
Tech-savvy and très chic women had cell phones in hand for bidding during the silent auction at the Heroes and Handbags Luncheon, the signature benefit for Heroes for Children. After vying for satchels, clutches and totes from the likes of Jimmy Choo, Fendi and Valentino (plus Elaine Turner’s custom Bella design), more than 500 guests lunched as event chair Cindy Stager introduced H & H’s co-founders Larissa Linton and Jenny Scott, as well as Allan Rayson, recipient of the Spirit of Allie and Taylor award. Those with substance and style well at hand: honorary chairs Danya Anderson and Donna Miller, Shelle Sills, Kim Bannister, Diane Johnston, Nancy Gopez, Candace Martin, Monica Coffey, Lisa Greenberg, and Holly Reed.
Nicholas Sparks Ignites WINGS Luncheon
Keynote speaker and author Nicholas Sparks charmed guests with background stories relating to his novels at the WINGS Luncheon benefitting New Friends New Life. The Hyatt Regency ballroom was packed with more than 800 guests as luncheon chair Katherine LaLonde lauded honorary chairs Kameron and Jimmy Westcott for never underestimating the power of friendship and courage. Chief of Police David Brown and Attorney General Gregg Abbott spoke eloquently about NFNL’s role in helping women overcome a lifetime of abuse. Spotted: Gail Turner, Becca Garrison, Sue Sandford, Amara Durham, Ashley Gomez, Chris Wasson, Scott Belshaw, and Jake Zelman.
