The poster-size invitation was the first of many over-the-top impressions that attracted supporters to the Booker T. Washington High School annual performing arts festival and fund-raiser, FlyingHorse II, chaired by Neiman Marcus’s Gabrielle de Papp. Students took center stage at the school’s Montgomery Arts Theater, where they charmed the audience with musical and dance numbers. Guests enjoyed Urban Crust’s wood-fired pizza as The Polyphonic Spree took the night’s wow factor to high levels. For the after-party, patrons headed to The Mason Bar, where they bounced to the beats of Booker T. alum DJ Lowdown Loretta Brown (Erykah Badu) and drank cocktails by mixologist Daniel O’Keefe. In the crowd: Stephen and Carrie Becker, Sheryl and Eric Maas, Molly Byrne, Jacqueline Anderson, Sharon Young, Nina Sachse, Brian Bolke, Catherine Rose and Lainie Krister.
