On Wednesday, May 11, 2012 artist and co-founder Rhonda Radford Adams of the Museum of Cultural Arts Houston (MOCAH) presented "The Art of Music" benefiting the Leukemia Lymphoma Society (LLS) at Phil & Derek's Restaurant & Wine Bar in Houston, Texas.
The "Art of Music" is the first event of the Creativity Cures series which celebrates the healing aspect of music therapy in the treatment of LLS Boy of the Year Noah Bratsch. Noah was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in July 2009 and is currently in the maintenance phase. His treatment phase ends in November of 2012, so there is still a long road ahead. Noah has down syndrone in addition to the cancer and for this reason, music has many therapeutic benefits for Noah's healing process.
Nominated among others as the LLS 'Woman of the Year' Rhonda Radford Adams number one goal is to raise awareness and funds in order to help provide critical treatment and research for patients and their families.
Guests enjoyed an evening with MOCAH and the Art Angels Healing Art program with entertainment and fundraising, featuring live music, dinner and dancing.
