After a stormy and rainy night the skies cleared up just in time for an early set-up and preperation for the Walk for Wellness. The Spring Branch Community Health Center was hosting its inaugural 5K Walk for Wellness at the Terry Hershey Park in Houston, Texas. Participants registered as early as 7:30 am and picked up their t-shirts.

Later the participants gathered near the large gazebo, where Mike Smith welcomed the many young and younger participants, followed by remarks of CEO Marlen Trujillo of the Spring Branch Community Health Center and by the introduction of the PACE program by Samuel Karns.

Shortly before the 9:00am Chris Cortez and Rock Williams with Healthy Hip Hop performed a hip hop dance to get the walkers energized followed by a fun warm-up.

Nick Loew, a high school student who created the logo for this event, started the Walk for Wellness and off they went..... all for a good cause.
