There are many reasons why TACA’s Silver Cup Luncheon at the Hilton Anatole is one of the best-attended events all season: Its moderator, Lee Cullum — playfully nicknamed “No-Notes Cullum” by John Eagle — is a witty public speaker; the live musical performances that ensue during lunch are top-notch (pianist Hando Nahkur brought the crowd to its feet); and this year’s Silver Cup honorees are the beloved Caroline Rose Hunt and Frank Risch. Cullum summed up the mood in the Hilton Anatole that afternoon when she said, “A friend once told me that listening changes chemistry.” When Hunt accepted her award, the entire ballroom quieted at the chance to hear the distinguished grande dame speak: “I consider myself blessed for many reasons,” she began. “And one is because I enjoy the performing arts.” TACA’s brightest in attendance included: chairmen Suzanne and David Droese, plus Rebecca Young, Bill Bogart, Mike Rawlings, Sarah Perot, Andy Teller, Ginger Reeder, and David Stern.

“Believe it or not, I always loved to dance.” — Caroline Rose Hunt at TACA Silver Cup Luncheon
