Calling all would-be Andy Warhols and Jerry Halls: For the Ronald McDonald
House of Dallas Young Friends fund-raiser, chairmen Amy McEvoy and Bianca
Colgin looked to arguably the most famous discothèque for inspiration,
Studio 54. Executing a whirl of sequins, mirrors and smoke in the grand
and decidedly un-disco-like Ritz-Carlton ballroom required an expert in
over-the-top sleights-of-hand. ³Amy and I asked Todd Fiscus to scour the
state of Texas and procure every disco ball and mirrored surface he could
find,² said Colgin. While Studio¹s  legendary alum (Truman Capote, Grace
Jones, Halston et al.) didn¹t show for the occasion, nearly 800 junior
fête-setters did. There was never a dull moment on the dance floor ‹
thanks to the let¹s-get-loud ways of DJ Lucy Wrubel, who spun hits from a
towering pedestal. Grace Jonesing: Meghan Looney, Laura Noble, Patrick
Anderson, Marjon Zabihi, Gibbs Henderson, Alexa Cervantes, Jaclyn Dennis,
Stephanie Stare, Leigh and Russ Johnson, Keith Conlon, Michelle Lafitte,
Anne Evans, Whitney Knouse, and RMH VIPs Jill Cumnock and Allison
Vanderwoude.

The day before Studio 54, Ronald McDonald House of Dallas (@RMHDallas)
Tweeted: ³We look forward to seeing you tomorrow night at the Ritz-Carlton
in your disco luxe attire.² Who followed instructions? Loren Maine in a
peacock-print headscarf; Matt Williams in a gigantic afro wig; David
Vasquez in a silk shirt and bell-bottoms that would have made Mick Jagger
proud; and chairmen Colgin and McEvoy, in coordinating gold-lamé looks
designed by Mari Hidalgo.
