Recipe for Success’ season-long Dress for Dinner series kicks off Friday, October 11, with an afternoon of oolong with fabled shoe designer Giuseppe Zanotti at Saks Fifth Avenue on Level One in the Shoe Salon. Overseeing the stiletto-studded afternoon are mother/daughter chair duo Leisa Holland-Nelson and Laura Max Nelson. And, for those especially altruistic underwriters, an intimate dinner with the designer follows at a private home. (Tickets are $50 per person; for more information, contact Marisol Castro 713.520.0043, firstname.lastname@example.org; recipe4success.org). In anticipation of Zanotti’s arrival, Seth Vaughan quizzed the enigmatic Italian.
Three qualities you like in a woman? Spontaneity, sensitivity, strength.
Three qualities you dislike? Obstinacy, obstinacy, obstinacy.
Should shoes hurt? Just a little bit …Comfort is important, but if you only look at that, then the shoe won’t be sensual. If a woman wants to be seductive, she is not afraid of a high heel.
Your favorite pair of shoes? My naked feet on the floor at home during the night.
What are you feeling for fall? I stopped thinking about shapes and heels. Actually, I feel attracted by new disproportions.
Any plans for a Giuseppe Zanotti boutique in Houston? I would love it!
