Primal Dream

Tom Ford

Most of us will admit to a fantasy involving Tom Ford. From there, we can be divided between two camps: whether said daydream entails being dressed by the designer … or undressed by him. Yes, Ford himself elicits a certain amount of breathlessness in both genders, but it’s the new 5,000-square-foot namesake boutique in Highland Park Village that has currently elevated heart rates. Step past the black metal and glass-paneled exterior into a dark and polished sanctuary laden with anthracite-hued walls, white marble floors, sparkling chrome and nickel fixtures, silk carpeting, Makassar ebony doorways, a beyond-glamorous mirrored fireplace and soaring 12-foot ceilings — a look very similar to his Beverly Hills location. Inside you’ll discover cosmetics, perfume and scents, eyewear, handbags, footwear and, of course, his inimitable men’s and women’s collections. The women’s wear salon houses his entire range of ready-to-wear, eveningwear and shoes while the men’s suiting and sportswear area  (with a beaver rug and a Calder mobile) also encompasses the complete made-to-measure service. We can’t wait to get our hands on all of it. 50 Highland Park Village, 214.854.3970;
